Angela Evelyn Bassett (born April 15 in 1961) was an American actress. Since the late 80s she has been working in film and TV. Her work has been recognized with several awards, among them sixteen NAACP Image Awards. Bassett is a native of New York New York and was raised by her aunt who lived in Winston-Salem North Carolina. Bassett was able to move with her younger sister to St. Petersburg Florida at age five in order to be near their mother and father, who had separated from her father. Bassett decided to be an actress after seeing the production Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, starring James Earl Jones. Yale University New Haven Connecticut was where she earned her bachelor's in African American and master's degrees (1983). She met Courtney B. Vance, a fellow actress at Yale and they were married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. Graduated from Yale School of Drama School with a master's in African American studies in the year 1980. Angela Bassett currently works in one of her main characters, Ramonda, in the action-adventure movie i.e. Black Panther Wakanda forever 2022.
